Andy & Tracey Bell took over the site in 2015, and Moor Hall opened two years later, following a multi-million pound renovation. In partnership with talented chef, friend and business partner, Mark Birchall, Moor Hall is now an award-winning Restaurant with luxury rooms, holding two Michelin stars and 5 AA Rosettes.

Who is Mark Birchall?
Talented Chef Patron, Mark Birchall, creates delicate produce-driven menus inspired by our exceptional surroundings and home grown ingredients. He was most recently Executive Chef of 2 Michelin Star L’Enclume in Cumbria and won the Roux Scholarship, the premier competition for chefs in the UK in 2011.
When was Moor Hall built?
1905
Moor Hall was built in 1905 by William Skinner and has had many different occupants all with their very own interpretation of the space. It started as a Regency Grange House which then grew into a Victorian Stately Home before becoming a convalescent nursing home.

Mark Birchall’s neighbourhood restaurant The Barn is located within the grounds of Moor Hall. Lovingly restored, The Barn offers a beautiful setting paired with great menus and excellent service. The Barn was awarded 3 AA Rosettes and a Michelin Plate accreditation for 2020.
